I knew Hazel for the last 35 years of her long life. She got me hooked on fluorescent minerals. In the 1990's she had a collection of fluorescent minerals in her basement that would rival the Smithsonian collection. We would try to go to 3 or 4 mineral shows a year. It was fun to take her to the shows. Everybody would make such a big deal out of her being there. She would be so happy and loved all the attention. She was a lifetime member at 3 of the clubs and President at 2 of them in previous years. The Livingston club even named their rock shop after Hazel and Clarence. She was very smart and my go to person for names of minerals. What amazed me was she could still climb up into my 4x4 truck to go to shows at a hundred years of age. Last year she was still memorizing Bible verses and leading a Ladies Bible study. I can just hear God saying to her "my good and faithful worker". She will be missed but forever in my heart. I look forward to seeing her again. Her loving friend Doug.
