Helen Mary Wargo's Obituary
Helen Mary Wargo, age 76, formerly of Saline, MI, passed away May 15, 2023. Helen’s family and friends will gather on Sunday, May 21, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Eineder Funeral Homes - Manchester Chapel, 207 E Duncan St., Manchester, MI and on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 910 Austin Dr., Saline, MI. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following visitation at 10:30 a.m. Fr. John Linden will serve as celebrant.
Helen was born on May 26, 1946 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Alexander and Esther (Brown) Mata. She met, David Wargo, and spent thirty-four years with him until his passing in 2020. Helen was a devoted nurse who worked her entire career at Beyer Memorial Hospital in Ypsilanti, MI. Many of those years were spent in the Labor and Delivery Unit where she happily helped bring new life into the world. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers. She lived many years in Saline, MI and was a long-time member of St. Andrews Church in Saline.
Helen will be missed by her children, Andrea (Rick) McQueen; Marc Brand; Mark Wargo; Kim (Brad) Ahrens; and her grandchildren, Adam and Connor McQueen; and Carter and Macy Ahrens. She is preceded in death by her husband, David; and brothers, Paul Mata and Jim Mata.
