Howard F. Smith's Obituary
SMITH, HOWARD F. ""BUTCH"" Age 71, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 after a long illness. He was born August 17, 1941 to Howard I. and Zelma B. (Lee) Smith. Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Virginia Jacobs and Lucille Gray; great-niece, Amy Wallen. Butch is survived by three sisters, Mary Lausch, JoAnne (Arthur) Holdridge and Patricia (Jack) Peavy; half-brother, David Smith; brother-in-law, Manley Jacobs; his beloved 12 nieces and nephews and their families, Carol Buchanan, Kathy (Pat) Willnow, David (Cathy) Lausch, Debra (Keith) King, Charles (Vera) Sierminski Jr., Cindy (Carl) Lenski, Terri (Bob) Papiersky, Suzette (Doug) Richardson, Art Holdridge Jr., Tracie (Tony) Weeks, Rodney Peavy and Michelle (Eric) Carpenter. After 42 years of service, Butch retired from Jackson Tumble & Finish where he had made many friends. He enjoyed many summers at his cottage in Au Train, MI, with his sister JoAnne and her children and grandchildren. He enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler and going to the casino. Services to Celebrate Butch's life will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Kevin Cherry officiating. Interment Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. For those who wish, contributions may be given to the Salvation Army or Interfaith Shelter.
