Irene Francelia Lutz's Obituary
Irene was born on the Sova farm in Leoni Township on April 17, 1918 and passed away on August 12, 2016 at The United Methodist Community in Chelsea, MI at the age of 98. She is survived by her loving nephew, Gary (Helen) Sova of Jackson; her loving niece, Jean Sova of Holly; loving sister-in-law, Leone Sova of Jackson; special care giving, loving friends, Terry and Jackie Demeuse and family, and Nancy Burke of Grass Lake; six great nieces and nephews; 12 great-great nieces and nephews; dear friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, LeRoy Lutz (1991); her parents, Walter (1966) and Nina (Huttenlocker) Sova (1954); her older brother and sister-in-law, Forrest (2006) and Jane (2004), her younger brother Alfred (2004); her nephews, Jerry (2013) and Larry (2014). Irene was a member of the Napoleon United Methodist Church and will be sadly missed by her church family and all of those at the Napoleon Café, the local hang-out. Have a piece of pie and ice cream there in her memory. As she often said "there's always room for ice cream". She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Fern Leaf Chapter #66 (formerly Napoleon #328) and she held various offices in the Star. She was a sweet, thoughtful, loving lady. She loved gardening, riding her John Deere and tending her flowers. Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 1:00 pm, beginning with Eastern Star Services followed by Services by Pastor Greg Wolfe. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Norvell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Napoleon United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 337, Napoleon, MI 49261.
