Jack Duane Choate II's Obituary
Jack Duane Choate II, 75, from Jackson, Michigan, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 20, 2024, at home surrounded by family. The family will hold a celebration of life in the spring.
He was born on June 4, 1949, in Jackson, Michigan, to Jack and Audrey (Cheetham) Choate. Jack graduated from Vandercook Lake High School as a 2-time wrestling champion. He loved his family and the community. Jack was involved in and umpired for all sports at Vandercook Lake. The word “Quit” was not in his vocabulary. He fought the good fight right up until the end. Jack worked as a pipefitter in the Union Plumber industry until retirement. He spent 42 years playing slow pitch softball in Jackson, Michigan. Jack was also an avid golfer, working for the last few years at Burr Oak Golf Course in Parma, Michigan. He enjoyed deer hunting locally and out west. Jack will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jack is survived by his children, Jack Choate III, Danielle (Scott) Conaway, Kimberlie (Basti) Martinez, Arlene Choate and Allison (Gary) VanOrder; siblings, Vaughn Choate, William Choate and Jacqueline (Robert) Porter; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Audrey Choate. A special mention to the Gorton Family and PNA Darters (Dart League).
