My sincere condolences to Mrs. Lockridge and Jack's family. I just learned of Jack's passing today and apologize for the delay in posting these words. I knew Jack from our work at the UM. In fact, I hired Jack. Over the course of time we developed a great bond and we counted on him immensely. He was our go-to parts guy and he chased elevator parts all over creation. (Elevator parts aren't sold in stores! He had to be creative!) I remember one time we went to a conference in Indiana together and somehow he knew all the back roads from Manchester to Indiana! I really enjoyed his stories, not only on that trip, but every day we worked together. I eventually moved in to another position at the UM and missed seeing Jack every day. But I know the people who continued to work with him counted on him to keep the place going up and down. Thanks for sharing a part of your life with us at the university, Jack! You are greatly missed.
