Jackie "Jack" Wayne Penn's Obituary
Age 86, a long time resident of Lake LeAnn, passed away peacefully at his home May 18, 2017 under the loving care of his family and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. Jack and Patricia (Bater) were married in 1977 and she survives. Also surviving are three sons, and two step-sons, Greg Penn, Charlie Penn, Jackie (Stacey) Penn II, Ken (Milagros) Causie and Kurt (Mandie) Causie; his brother, William (Martha) Penn; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Eva Blanche (Dillard) Penn; step-father, William Runyon; his first wife, Jeanne (McClure) Penn and half brother, Addis Penn. Jackie was born June 19, 1930 in Orleans, Indiana, graduating from Orleans High School in 1947. He served the nation in the US Army during the Korean War and owned a small trucking company in Orleans before coming to Michigan in 1975 after Jeanne's death. He was Vice-President and general manager of Commercial Honing in Jackson and Roseville, MI and Houston, Texas until its sale in 1980. He retired as owner-operator of Penn Trucking in 2000. He was a good friend to his children and best friend to his wife Patricia. He enjoyed reminiscing with friends, following his grandchildren's activities, boating, golfing and playing cards. He was a member of Grace Church, 2692 N. Dettman Road, Jackson MI 49201, where a Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 6:00 pm, with Pastor Garrett Craig officiating. Family will begin greeting friends at 5:30 pm. Contributions in his memory are directed to the church or charity of donor's choice.
