Jackie Carol (Tufts) Salisbury, 78, of Michigan Center, MI, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Henry Ford Hospital. Jackie’s family and friends will gather from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel. Her funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Pastor Michael Mason will preside. Cremation will take place following the services.
Jackie was born on September 13, 1947, in Lackey, KY, to John and Johnnie (Hicks) Tufts. She graduated from Wayland High School in Kentucky. Jackie married the love of her life, William Terry Salisbury, on December 24, 1967. When her daughter was young, she was a stay-at-home mom. Later, Jackie became a Paraprofessional for the Michigan Center School District, where she spent 20 + years, until her retirement. She loved to go antique shopping, to garage sales and shopping, in general, where she would collect “treasures” for her collections. Jackie enjoyed gardening in her yard, especially flowers, which she would plant in pots throughout her yard. She, also, enjoyed placing rocks in her yard. Jackie often traveled back home to Kentucky to visit family and friends. She was a kind soul with a beautiful grace, who never knew a stranger. Even through the tough times, Jackie still found time to compliment her nurses and loved spreading warmth and happiness to all. She could make anyone feel better with her warm hugs, great advice and her thoughtfulness. Jackie will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother, who would light up any room with her smile and who was the best grandma “Mamaw” to her grandchildren. Jackie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Jackie will be missed by her daughter, Shawn (Chris) Bliss; her sister, Judy (Donnie) Tufts-Combs; her grandchildren, Rayne Bliss and Isabelle Bliss; and her beloved Michigan Family. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Johnnie; and her husband of 50 years, William Terry Salisbury.
