Jacob Zimmerman's Obituary
Age 94, of Jackson, passed away April 3, 2016 at Countryside Manor. He is survived by his daughter, H. Ann (John) Tallis, three grandchildren, Fawn Rene Jackson, Jacob Zimmerman IV and Kimberly Rene (Dave) McFarland, six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Enola in 2006, son Jacob Zimmerman III, daughter Sandra Rogevan, grandchildren, Stephanie Lynne Tallis and Carrie Rogevan, three sisters, Hattie Clingerman, Mary Johnson and Rose. Jacob served the nation in the US Army ETO World War II as a combat engineer, had been active in the Jackson Cascades Lions Club, retired after a career at Consumers Power Co. and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Richard G. Rowley Post #823, Jackson. Cremation has taken place and private services will be held with Rev. Dave Cornwell, Great Lakes Hospice Chaplain officiating. Military honors will be given by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Michigan Center Education Foundation to benefit the Stephanie Tallis Greenhouse or the Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
