Jacquelyn Jo Shay's Obituary
Shay, Jacquelyn 'Jackie"", (maiden-Leutz), age 69, of Sarasota, Florida, went to be with the Lord September 14, 2014. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, David Shay Sr., three children, David (Lisa) Shay Jr., Dennis (Julie) Shay, Karen (Robert) Meadows, seven grandchildren, Meagan (David) Ashmore, Sean Meadows, Erica (Joseph) McMillian, Cody Shay, Hannah Shay, Liam Meadows, Collin Meadows, great-grandson, Zachary McMillian, two sisters, Karlene (CJ) Stewart and Charmayne Cook, brother John Leutz, sister-in-law Donna Leutz, many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ethel (maiden-Hauser) Leutz, and brother Ray Leutz. She was born in Summit Township, Michigan, graduated in the Vandercook Lake High School Class of 1962 and earned her Registered Nursing Degree at Jackson College. After 18 years of nursing, Jackie retired to Florida. She was a very caring and giving person who ADORED her family. She loved spending time with family and friends and truly enjoyed her Thursday evenings with Accordian Club friends. Funeral Services will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Jackson, MI Friday September 19, 2014 at 10:30 am. Interment Roseland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 with a Rosary Service at 7:30 pm. Contributions in her memory are directed to Tidewell Hospice 5955 Rand Boulevard, Sarasota, Florida 34238. The family wishes to thank Tidewell Hospice and the Sarasota Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care. A celebration of her life for Florida friends will be held at her son's home in Bradenton, Florida will be announced at a later date.
