James Charles Moorehead's Obituary
James Charles Moorehead, 75, passed away after his long battle with illness on September 26, 2025. James' family and friends will gather from 10:00am-11:00am on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel. His funeral service will follow at 11:00am, with Military Honors. Pastor Ned Bernstein will preside.
He was born on October 15, 1949, in Jackson, MI. James was a graduate of Michigan Center High School Class of 1968. Following high school, he joined the United States Navy where he served his country proudly and honorably as a flagman on the aircraft carrier USS America. James enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and watching University of Michigan Football, the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers. He was always found to be at his grandchildren’s sporting events and the Michigan Center Eagles #3634. James had a great sense of humor and could put a smile on anyone’s face. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
James will be missed by his children, Brad (Brenda) Moorehead, Melissa (Jeff) Rankin, and Brian (Jessica) Moorehead; grandchildren, Alicia (Scott Cross) Marion, Kristen (Kyle) Dodge, Scott (Kelsey) Marion, Kayla (Justin) Fagan, Jasmine (Chris) Hawkins, Jake (Allison Helton) Rankin, Josh (Kamryn) Rankin, Ethen Moorehead, Emilie Moorehead; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Michael (Cathy) Moorehead, Robert (Pat) Harbottle, Janet Voigt, and Sally (Tom) Mierzwa; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and special friend from high school, Kyle Allen Sr. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Terry Moorehead; and brother-in-law, Richard Voigt.
