Janet Sue Burnham's Obituary
Janet Sue Burnham, 87, of Brooklyn, MI, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 5, 2024, in Adrian, MI. Janet’s family and friends will gather from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel. Her funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Greg Hobbs will serve as officiant. After services, there will be a luncheon at the American Legion in Brooklyn, MI. A private interment will take place at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI, where Janet will be laid to rest with her husband, Dave.
Janet was born on August 26, 1937, to Russell and Faye (Carpenter)Bailey. Janet was proceeded in death by her husband, David, of 44 years, her brother, Ron Bailey, and her loving parents. Janet had many, many friends over the years and was a true people person.
In her younger years, Janet worked as a switch board telephone operator. She had the most fun traveling out west with her husband and friends, Don and Kit Onsted. Janet and Dave loved Las Vegas and Arizona, where they spent a lot of time. They loved it so much in Arizona, they eventually bought a 2nd home there. Janet enjoyed snowmobiling up north with family and friends. She also liked canning her own food, she did that for years. Janet was a member of the American Legion for many years. She loved to have fun, and nothing made her happier than her grandkids and great grandkids. She was in her glory when there was a family gathering.
Janet will be deeply missed by her children, Pam (Kirk) Gedman, Michelle (Jim) Parsons, and David (Kimberly) Burnham; her grandkids, who she cherished, Kirk, Megen and Joey; her great grandkids, who put a sparkle in her eye, Brady, Patrick, Madison, Karly, Lea, Max and Henley. Janet also had a special friend, Arlis Hamlin, who she spent the last 24 years with.
