She was born on April 30, 1945, in Nelsonville, Ohio, to James and Margaret (Douglas-Gerardis) Green. Janice will be remembered as someone that loves people and never met a stranger. She spent a large majority of her life working as a teacher’s assistant and mentor for the Michigan Center Teen Scene. Janice would always be available for her students when they needed her support. She also was very patriotic, to the point that seeing our nation’s flag flying with the National Anthem playing would bring her to tears. Janice was also very involved in the Women’s Auxiliary for the American Legion. She volunteered her time to the American Legion and to the Veterans Association. Janice was a very talented artist and crafter. She loved to make jewelry among many other things. Janice also was a collector of all things. It didn’t matter what it was, but if she liked it and it caught her attention, she would collect it.
Janice will be missed by her special ex-husband, Dane Elmore; her children, Jackie (Bill) Page, Shelley (Tom) Sayles and Stu (Kate) Elmore; daughter-in-law Melinda Vollmer and stepdaughter Stacey Bailey, brothers James (Marlene) Green and Doug (Julie) Green and grandchildren Robert and James Vollmer, Courtney (Chris) and Lee (Kylie) Page, Brittany and Josh Sayles, Darcey, Brooks, Cheyenne, Devin, Marcus and Kyleigh and Stuart Elmore III. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Margaret Green and her son Bryan Vollmer.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Legion. Please leave a message of comfort for Janice’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
