Jean Hogoboom's Obituary
Age 78, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Arbor Manor Rehabilitation and Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth L.; parents, Frank and Mary Samels; brothers, Larry and Frank (Joan) Samels. Jean is survived by three daughters, Terri (Tab) Weber, Sarah Hogoboom and Kris Nelson; four granddaughters, Chelsea Zantop, Kelly Zantop, Lindsay Lavan and Jessica Fuller; two great-grandchildren, Rylie and Golden Willaert; sister, Joanne Church; in-laws, Shirley Samels, Barb ("Bud") Niles and George (Shirley) Hogoboom; several nieces and nephews. Jean for many years worked secretarial duties at Our Lady of Fatima School and then at Michigan Center High School. She enjoyed camping, bingo, gambling and casino trips. Jean was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 913 Napoleon Road, Michigan Center where a Memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Father Tim MacDonald officiating. The family will greet friends at the church beginning at noon.
