Jeannine S. Collins' Obituary
Age 79, of Summit Township, passed away at her home on October 5, 2022 under the loving care of her family and the staff of Elara Caring Hospice. She was born in Lansing on July 6, 1943, the daughter of Robert and Rosaline (Simon) Vail.
Jeannine is survived by her beloved family; her husband of 38 years, James L. Collins; two daughters, Gina (Chris) Norton of Cheboygan and Darlene (Matt) Erfourth of Royal Oak; step-children, Jeanne (William) Wright and Michael (Cori) Collins; grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan Norton, Amanda (Ray Kaplan) and Ashley Burnside, Kent Collins, Julia (Thomas) DeCleene, Lauren Medina, Nick and Jake Hall; great-grandchildren, Ari DeCleene and Marlo Hall; sister, Marilyn (Duane) Bazzett; brothers, Roger Vail and Gary (Marsha) Vail; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Brian William Smith; her father, Robert C. Vail and her mother, Rosaline Powers.
Jeannine graduated from St. John's High School in Jackson and Northwood University in Midland. She retired from Consumers Energy from the Records Management Department.
In retirement, Jeannine and Jim spent five months a year in Venice, Florida. In addition to walking and riding her bike; Jeannine loved cooking, baking, playing cards and games, and especially spending time with family and friends.
Jeannine was a member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, 1111 Carlton Blvd, Jackson, MI 49203 where a Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 10:30 am with Father Tim MacDonald officiating. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:30 am. A luncheon will follow the services.
