Jeffrey Lester Ives' Obituary
Age 69, of Leoni Township, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family and under the medical supervision of Henry Ford Hospice-Jackson. Jeff was born in Jackson, Michigan on Sunday, November 30, 1952 to the late Edwin C. and Margaret E. (Mix) Ives. He is survived by his wife of 47 years; Patricia Lynn (Murine-Zacharias) Ives, daughter; Melissa Ives-Chambers, grandchildren; Russell (Kerrigan Hutchinson) Chambers II and Hanna Chambers, siblings; Shirley Dowding, Carol (Dan) Talmadge, Connie Holbert, Janet Ives, his twin brother; Joseph (Darlene) Ives and Greg (Connie) Ives, many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter; Valerie and two nephews; Kirk Dowding and Mike Talmadge. Jeff graduated from East Jackson High School with the Class of 1971. He served the nation in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Jackson County Road Commission as a long time truck driver but also worked his entire life on the family business; Ives Farms and Gardens. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Jackson County Outdoor Club (3550 Hart Road, Jackson, MI 49201) on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 4 to 8 pm. At 5 pm veterans honors will be offered by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team. Contributions in his memory are directed to the Jackson County Outdoor Club. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to family members who have been so supportive these last months.
