Jerod Lee Holmes Sr.'s Obituary
It is with the heaviest of hearts, the family of Jerod Holmes Sr, 82 years of age, announces his passing from natural causes in his sleep in Brooklyn, Michigan, on February 11th, 2025. He was a beloved father and grandfather. He cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren. Among those he leaves behind is his children, Jerod Holmes Jr (April), Janeane Johnson (Jeffrey), Katie Fink (Brandon), and Kirk Holmes (Ciarra); plus, his grandchildren, Sophia, Ethan, Owen, Lillian, Amber, Zacķary, Brooke, and Autumn.
Jerod was an only child raised in Alma, Michigan. He worked delivering mail for the United States
Postal Service in Ann Arbor, from which he retired. He enjoyed model trains, music, watching movies, and dining with his family.
Over the years of knowing him, as a friend then as my father-in-law, I have learned a great deal about patience and grace. He approached everyone with kindest of manners and the lightest heart to get to know them. He spent more time listening than talking, not complaining or judging others. His laugh and subtle humor was infectious and a constant spirit lifter among the family. He will live on in our hearts, for eternity, and will be on our minds as a model to strive to achieve for ourselves and our children.
Jerod’s family and friends will gather from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel, with Military Honors at 4:15 p.m.
