Jerry E Cox, Sr's Obituary
Age 75, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at the University of Michigan Health Center in Ann Arbor. He is survived by four children, Jerry (Kim) Cox Jr. of Michigan Center, Lisa (David) Lazarus, Amy (Joe) Garcia and Andrea (Jeffrey) Robison, all of Jackson; ten grandchildren, Bradley, Tara (Jeff), Anna (Chris), Stacie (Matt), Autumn, Joseph, Adam, Shay, Hayden and Jacquelyn; seven great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Zoe, Maelynn, Alaina, Logan, Isaac and Lucas; five siblings, Phyllis (Russ) Stewart, John (Shirley) Crawford, Marty (Deb) Crawford, Jeanne (Bob) Dean and Paula Cox; special friend, Margaret Adkins; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Cox and Evelyn Crawford, three siblings, Loretta Brigham, Monty Cox and Zoanne Reason. Jerry was a 1958 graduate of Michigan Center High School and was proud to be a veteran of the Marine Corps Reserves. He was a fanatic about University of Michigan sports and a follower of the Detroit Tigers; for many years, he bowled with his son on the Tuesday night league at Suburban Lanes. Jerry had many joys in life: attending his grandchildren's events, country music, socializing at Virginia Coney Island and other Jackson restaurants as well as the time spent with his second family at Maple Ridge Senior Apartments. Services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 11 am with interment following at St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. Cemetery military honors will be given by the Jackson County American Legion Ritual Team.
