Jerry Paul Mummery's Obituary
Jerry Paul Mummery, 87, of Liberty Township, passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital. Jerry’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church, 402 S. Mill Street, Brooklyn, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Interment at Highland Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Sheeks will officiate.
He was born on October 20, 1937 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Glenn and Virginia (Sample) Mummery. Jerry married, Vicki Cobb-Lindeman, on September 1, 1990, in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He will be remembered for his giving nature and always helping others. Jerry was an Ann Arbor High School graduate. He proudly served his country in the United States Naval Reserve as a flight instructor. Jerry was a volunteer for the Pittsfield Township Fire Department for many years. After 41 years, he retired from Ford Motor Company in Saline as a foreman. He was a member of the Ann Arbor Jaycees and the American Legion Wilbur-Bartlet #315 of Brooklyn. Jerry was active in the First Baptist Church in Brooklyn where he was a longtime member. He was very strong in his faith. He also was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Above all Jerry loved spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren. They lovingly called him “Poppa” and “Farm Daddy”. Jerry was a friend to all. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Vicki; his children, Lisa (Raymond) Brown, Cindy (Craig) Coburn, David Lindeman, Jr. and Michelle (Tod) McBean; his sister, Judy (Doug) Livingston; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; along with his extended loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents.
