Jesse Clay Fowler's Obituary
Jesse Clay Fowler was born at home in Detroit Michigan, the son of Maurice E Fowler and Bessie Lee Bedwell-Fowler. He grew up in Garden City Michigan. He loved his boyhood in Garden City and had many wonderful memories from there. As an adult he moved to Jackson Michigan, where he lived until his retirement. He retired to Maryville, Tennessee.
Jesse served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958. While serving at McGee Tyson Airforce Base he met Levada Palmer. They were married on 31 Dec 1955. They shared 65 exciting years together.
Jesse was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1969. He loved his church and had a strong testimony of his savior Jesse Christ. He took his beautiful wife to the Washington DC Temple where they were sealed together for Time and all Eternity on 28 March 1985.
Jesse served in many church positions, including: the Stake High Council, Ward Bishopric, and taught religion classes and mentored inmates at the Jackson Prison. He served 3 Church service missions; as a temple worker at the Detroit LDS Temple, managing the Knoxville Stake Food Cannery, and as a counselor in the LDS churches Addiction Recovery Services.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents Maurice E Fowler, Bessie Lee Bedwell-Fowler and his grandson David J Howard.
He is survived by his wife Levada Palmer-Fowler; his children Jesse C Fowler Jr (Debbie)-Fort Worth TX, Debra L Howard (John)-South Jordan UT, Linda Fowler/Martin-Maryville TN, Thomas Fowler (Sue)-Grabill IN. Grandchildren: Jesse C Fowler III (Katie)-Jackson MI, Jamie Dye (Andy)-Aledo TX, Sean Osborn (Taylor)-Lansing MI, Emily Trzcinski (Mark)-Hurricane UT, Jessica Howard-Sandy UT, Dale Howard-West Jordan UT, Rachel Martin (Dean)-Pleasant Lake MI, Steve Martin-Pleasant Lake MI, Jade Lamon (Johnny)-Leslie MI, Thomas Fowler Jr (Triston)-Frankfort KY, Zachary Fowler-Maryville TN; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services to honor Jesse's life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3019 W. Morrell Street, Jackson, MI 49203 on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:00 am with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Interment with military honors will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 1:30 pm.
