Jimmy Franklin Marshall's Obituary
Jimmy Franklin Marshall, 80, of Lake Somerset passed away March 21, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospice Home in Jackson. Jim’s family will gather for a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
Jim was born on April 21, 1943, in Eunice, West Virginia to Sidney and Opal (Osborne) Marshall. He graduated from Martin High School in Kentucky. Jim married the love of his life, Billie Lee Frady, on October 11, 1969, in Ypsilanti, Michigan and they enjoyed 54 wonderful years together. Jim was a proud United States Army Veteran and was stationed in Hawaii during the Vietnam War. He worked at Ford Motor Company as a supervisor for 32 years before retiring in 2001. Jim was an avid sports fan and loved to play sports, especially golf. He enjoyed watching the University of Kentucky sports teams, Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers and University of Michigan football and basketball. His favorite sports teams to watch were those that his children and grandchildren played. Jim was also a Commander at the Ypsilanti American Legion, Post 282. He will be remembered as a loving man, completely devoted to his family.
Jim is survived by his wife Billie; his children, Christopher (Linda) Brown, and Randy (Janice) Marshall; siblings, Carlos (Lisa) Marshall, Ada Weaver, and Douglas (Linda) Marshall; grandchildren, Leah Brown, Morgan Marshall, Katelyn Brown, Madison Marshall, Lauren Marshall, and Luke Marshall. He is preceded in death by his son, Gregory Marshall and siblings, Rebecca Hall, Kell Marshall, Sue Spangler, Cindy Hall, Sidney Marshall Jr., Harlos Marshall, Corrine Tabor and Bobby McGuffy.
