Joan Marie Haligus' Obituary
Joan Marie Haligus, Age 90, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023. Joan’s family and friends will gather at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, for a Memorial Service at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (Formerly Arthur-Day Funeral Home). Pastor John White will be officiating.
Joan was born on December 23, 1932, in Jackson, Michigan to Leo and Mary (Fisher) Hulbert. She will be remembered as a kind, sweet and caring person that adored her family. Joan was always there for her children throughout their entire lives. She was a hard worker and loved to work on her farm and with her animals. Joan even trained horses at one point in her life. She was also a phenomenal cook and loved to bake. When it came to the holidays, Joan insisted that she would be hosting the family celebrations. Everything she made was home cooked. She was known to make special things for friends and family per their request. Joan was not one to mess with. For as sweet and loving as she was, she knew how to protect herself with Judo. She nearly knocked out one of her son’s friends that questioned her skills. Later in life, Joan took on the real estate market and became quite successful. She was a very busy person, always on the go.
Joan will be missed by her children, Peggy (Mark) Cornell and Brad (Sherrie) Haligus, grandchildren; Amy (Bradley) Smith, Abagale (Taylor) Aue, Olivia Cornell, Roxanne (Mike) Hallam, Chase Haligus, great grandchildren; Avery Smith, Lily Aue, Emma Aue, Miles Fisher, McKenzie Hallam, Layne Hallam, Zach Hallam, and special nieces; Patty, Debbie, and Pam. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marilee Richards.
