Joan Rosa Samon's Obituary
Age 87, of Michigan Center, passed away Wednesday November 24, 2021 at Henry Ford Allegiance Health. She is survived by four children; Michelle (Dave) Kerekes, Kelly (Joseph) McGauley, Anthony J. (Ann) Samon and Teresa (Ron) Kinch, seven grandchildren; Sara Noppe, Ben (Creta) Noppe, Jason (Traci) McGauley, Joshua (Rosemary) McGauley, Erin (Ryan) Hendricks, Eric (Sydney) Samon and Kayla (Ben) Ward, fourteen great-grandchildren; her schoolmate and life-long friend; Georgene Marr, sisters-in-law; Lila Craw, Beverly Samonand Pat Knoop, brother-in-law; Bob (Jeanne) Samon, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; Martin D. Samon, infant son; Joseph Samon, brothers; Richard and Bud Knoop, sisters in law; Viniagene Samon and Mary Samon, brothers-in-law; John Samon, Jerry Samon and Wilson Craw, and her parents; Arthur A. and Clarabel G. (Walters) Knoop. Joan graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1955 as a registered nurse. She worked many years as the night nursing supervisor at Cedar Knoll Rest Home. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting, fishing, reading and most of all spending time with family. Mrs. Samon has been cremated. The family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance at Arthur-Day Funeral Home Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 6-8 pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
