Joanne Oklevitch Martin, age 88, of Napoleon, passed away on February 11, 2025. Joanne graduated from Nazareth Academy in Rochester, New York. She worked as a secretary for the Victor Central School District in Victor, New York, and a longtime election official in Napoleon Township. She was a skilled seamstress, talented artist, and an excellent cook and baker. Joanne loved to spend as much time working in her garden as the weather allowed.
She is survived by her three children; Elaine (Daniel) Medrow of Whitmore Lake, Scott Martin of Napoleon, and Colleen (Siddharth) and granddaughter Siobhan Padia of Los Angeles; brother Wayne Furman of Rochester, New York; sister Sue North of Canandaigua, New York, and brother-in-law, Robert Vermeulen of Fairport, New York. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Ronald, and brother, John Oklevitch.
Family and friends will gather at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Feb.17, 2025, for visitation, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church 913 Napoleon Rd. Michigan Center, Michigan. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Amal Rayapillai SdC officiating. Interment will take place Monday February 17, 2025 at 2:30 PM, at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Napoleon.
