John Richard Abbey's Obituary
John Richard Abbey, age 73, of Mt. Pleasant, MI passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025. John’s family will gather privately at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel for his funeral service. He will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery in Napoleon. His son James Abbey to officiate.
He was born on July 11, 1951, at Fort Bragg U.S. Army Hospital in North Carolina to Leon and Joyce (Russell) Abbey. John graduated from Napoleon High School in 1970. He worked as a corrections officer for the Michigan Dept. of Corrections for 30 years retiring in 2016. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and golfing.
John is survived by his children, Phillip (Tina) Abbey, James Abbey, Kimberly (Shawn) McFeters; brother, Stephen (Michelle) Abbey; grandchildren, Carsyn, Noah, Brooklyn, Gracie, Grant, Adison. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Mike Abbey.
