John Grubba's Obituary
John Herbert Grubba, 82, of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away, suddenly, at home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. John’s family and friends will gather Friday, December 15, 2023, from 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 11:00 am located at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (formally Arthur-Day Funeral Home). Burial will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Jackson, MI.
John was born on December 21, 1940, in Jackson, Michigan to John and Ethellyn (Brighton) Grubba. He graduated from Michigan Center High School. John will be remembered as a lover of sports, especially playing golf and watching the Detroit Tigers. He spent many years coaching baseball for the youth of Michigan Center. John will always be known as the coach of Kinch’s Marauders in the Majors Division of Michigan Center’s Youth League. John applied the principles he learned through his life in sports to his business career in abrasives. In 2010, John retired from EWIE, Company, based out of Ann Arbor. But most of all he will be remembered as a family man at heart.
John will be missed by his wife, Susan Creamer Grubba; children, Patrick (Chuck Rose) Grubba, Debbie (Andy) Keplinger and Bradley (Ann) Grubba; grandchildren, Kilee Keplinger, Jennifer Grubba, Kendra Grubba, Kasee Keplinger, Caleb Grubba, Devon Grubba, Jacob Grubba, Megan Grubba, Mikaila (Cody) Coppernoll and Joshua Rose; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Owens and Charlie Owens; sister, Martha “Marti” Grimes; and nephews, John Kelly Duncan, James and Matthew; nieces, Ali and Laura. John is preceded in death by his father, John Joseph; mother, Ethellyn; and his first wife, JoEtta (Adams) Grubba.
