John Wesley Hawkins' Obituary
John Wesley Hawkins, 87, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. John’s family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Church.
He was born on January 26, 1936 in Jackson, Michigan to Richard and Lola (Burns) Hawkins. John married, the late Sharon Miller, who passed unexpectedly in 1973. He later married, the late Delores Gafken, who passed away in 2012. He will be remembered as a hard-working individual that enjoyed farming and word search puzzles. John was employed by the late Hugh Howard, Jr. for many years and retired from Brooklyn Products. He attended the Grace Church in Jackson and enjoyed getting together with his friends from the church. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his 6 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Lola; his wives, Sharon and Delores, siblings, Margorie Steigerwalt, Lillie Worden and Clinton Hawkins.
