John Edmund Teegardin's Obituary
John Edmund Teegardin, 77, passed away at Henry Ford Hospital – Jackson, April 28,2025.
John was born on September 29, 1947, in Jackson, Michigan to Leroy and Alice (McCoy) Teegardin. John attended and graduated from St. John’s Catholic Schools in Jackson, Michigan. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country for four years. After his enlistment he attended Jackson Community College and Spring Arbor College receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting that he put to great use working for the State of Michigan for many years. John married the love of his life, Cheryl Renee Van Epps, on July 13, 1968, at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. He will be remembered as man whose greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially, his grandchildren. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
John was a voracious reader, a writer and enjoyed rebuilding his “hot rod”. He loved traveling all over, including Georgia, Memphis and up north. He and Cheryl enjoyed spending time together at the casinos as well.
John will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 57 years Cheryl; his sons, Jon (Michelle) and Paul Teegardin; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Craig) and Collin; great grandchildren, Tori, Shane, Wellington, Ryder and Olivia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Alice; siblings, Richard and Jim Teegardin; brother-in-law Doug Van Epps.
