Johnny Marks, 75, of Jackson passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital, Jackson. Johnny’s family and friends will gather Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel. His funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Pastor Jeff Sheeks will officiate.
Johnny was born on November 16, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan to Russell and Rae (Munth) Marks. Johnny married the love of his life, Debra Olson, on October 5, 2006 in Jackson, Michigan He will be remembered for his devotion and love for his “Sweetie Debra” whose hand he held each and every night, and his blended family one and all. Johnny was a very honorable, responsible man with a lot of integrity. He was a graduate of Trenton High School, class of 1967. Johnny was very proud of his service in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War as a weapons specialist. He was a Sergeant in the military and a Sergeant in life. He started on the ground floor at Macsteel and became a Jack of all trades over the next 20 years. In his free time Johnny enjoyed playing baseball and golfing, earning many trophies. He also enjoyed hunting, and fishing, a true outdoorsman. Johnny took great pride in maintaining his lawn. He was the rock of the family; an amazing role model and he was very proud of his son and grandson and their accomplishments. They brought great joy to his life. Johnny will greatly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Johnny is survived by his loving, devoted wife of 18 years, Debra; his son, Johnny Paul “JP” Marks, daughter, Deena (Jay) Smith and bonus children, Julie (Steve) Southard and Christopher Toth; his brothers, Earl (Sandy) Marks, Danny (Martha) Marks, Tony (Sharon) Marks and Gary (Irene) Marks; his grandchildren, Silas John Marks, Jajuane Smith Jr., Jordyn Smith and bonus grandchildren, Taylor and Riley; bonus great grandchildren, Carmelo, Azaria, Ptah, and Janessa; godson, Denie Marks; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Alan Marks and Lenny Marks.
