Joseph C. Biernat's Obituary
Age 58, of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February, 24, 2016. Joe was born September 17, 1957, the son of Joseph S. and Thelma Biernat. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, John Biernat and an infant sister. Joe was a devoted family man; he leaves behind to mourn his passing, his beloved wife, Shelly; sons, Damion and Shawn (his partner, Sonya and her daughter, Hailey); grandsons, Talan and Tanner; granddaughter, Angelia; mother, Thelma; sister, Julie (Jim) Lounsbury; niece, Kristie (Toby) Taylor and their sons, Kristopher and Ethan; brother-in-law, Tim Guscinski; sisters-in-law, Celia Biernat and Vicki Scott; many cousins and friends. He was a cherished son, brother and friend to all who knew him. Joe was a graduate of Michigan Center High School where he was active in the band throughout his years there. He was a talented musician, having started at age 13, after his high school days he played professionally and his talents will be remembered by many. Joe's talents extended to designing, building and repairing. There was nothing he would not attempt to make better and more attractive which can be seen in the homes of his family and friends. His work ethics were beyond reproach. After school, Joe had moved to Florida where he worked for Duggan Associates; then returning to Jackson, he worked at Mechanical Products and most recently at Lefere Drop Forge. In his leisure, he loved golfing, fishing and water sports. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 4 pm with Reverend Pam Brown officiating. Visitation will begin at 2 pm until service time. For those who wish, contributions in Joe's memory to the Cascades Humane Society would be appreciated.
