Josephine Marie Roosa's Obituary
Age 86 of North Canton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday evening, August 28, 2020 while under hospice care in the Sanctuary Grande Nursing Home. She was born in Jackson, Michigan to the late Michael and Margaret (Grygiel) Zakrzewski. After graduation, Josephine worked in the accounting department for the Goodyear Tire Company in both Michigan and Union City, Tennessee. After retirement she then worked part- time for the American Greeting Card Company in Canton, Ohio. She was a member of the Little Flower Catholic Church in North Canton OH. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping, reading, and watching television along with traveling to their annual getaways in Arkansas and New Orleans, and the cabin at Pine Lake in Wellston, MI. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Roosa in 2014, sister Irene Ahrens and brother Thomas Zakrzewski. Josephine is survived by sister, Sharon (Ken) Gorski, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services with the proper COVID restrictions will be held at the funeral home Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 1 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, September 3, 2020 from 11 am until service time. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Contributions in her memory are directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105-3678). The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers from Crossroads Hospice in Green, OH for their loving care and compassion.
