Dear Elaine, Jed and family,You may not remember me, but I had the great joy of being the Activity Director at the Brooklyn Living Center for a short time... long enough to know and love Jo! I admired her faith, her tenderheartedness, her wit, her sense of humor, and her enormous love for you all. How such a tiny lady could project such big love was beyond me! She was such a treasure. We were not supposed to have favorite residents, but that was impossible with Jo around! She was so adorable in her Halloween witch costume, I wanted to take her home, the cutest witch you ever saw. She never missed an activity, and brought joy and conversation and connection everywhere she went. I am so thankful I knew her, and I apologize that I am just now hearing of her passing. Please know that my heart goes out to all of you, with lots of love.

Our hearts go out to Elaine and Jed Herbert in the loss of a great lady and special friend to us all these years that we have known her. We will always remember the funny sayings she had especially when she would tell my husband that she would try to be nice to him today, and of course while winking at me, and laughed. Our sympathy to Elaine's family also.

Bud and Jo are precious people and both have a "Servant's Heart." Jo has a sharp mind and is quick with a joke or comeback to join a conversation. She and Bud are always smiling but when Jo smiles, one had better be on their guard because she is "up to something!" Haha! I love her sense of humor and her spiritual light she carries with her. Every Christian should seek to be like Christ however, being like Bud and Jo...is a great human example to follow.Bud and Jo are not dead; they are more alive now than ever before. We should never think of them as "were" for they are now complete and thus; alive! We will miss them here but only for a short while, then, a grand reunion! Jo was a kid at heart. She loved playing games and dancing with the kids. Going through some videos I found a time when Bud and Jo was over for dinner and we were in the back yard while the kids were playing on the swing set. Jo was right with them swinging on the contraption you pump with your arms. Of course as soon as the camera was on her she got off. But we had the evidence, She knew how to have fun!She sang songs and played with the kids anything they want. Including just dance on the Wii. We also have that on video. Jo was a great cook. She would bring apple pie to dinner. Once she mentioned she had taken an apple pie to the Tombs' and Elaina was shocked. She thought Grandma only made us the apple pies. We spent 18 years loving and laughing with Bud and Jo, They taught me what marriage looked like after 50 and 60 years. I cherish them and the memories we made. I can't wait to see them again in heaven. It's going to be awesome!

Aunt Jo was a favorite of ours. Rick and I loved her and we loved uncle Joe and all their children as well. Aunt Jo's family was Renee's backyard neighbors when she moved from Canada to East Longmeadow. Aunt Jo and her peeps were the best backyard neighbors to have as Renee's family was getting acclimated into the American culture. Renee later married Rick who happened to be aunt Jo's nephew. Small world indeed. All you Stewarts will forever be in Rick and my hearts forever. When uncle Bud died, we were sad and now we find peace in knowing aunt Joe is getting reunited with him. Sending all of you our deepest sympathy and so much love. Rick and Renee
