Not a birthday will go by without me remembering being sung Happy Birthday by Joyce's forearm - one armed band, lips to arm, sounding the notes to Happy Birthday. Tonight I will remember her with taps and the joy her heart gave to all with her sense of humor. Gods Speed Joyce. Miss Pam
My husband and I met Joyce at Shady’s Taproom in Brooklyn. Although Joyce likely would not have remembered me, I will always remember her! She and I bonded over our love and admiration over our dads. She was so funny and enjoyable to talk to. I was fortunate to see Joyce sing funny songs for Kareoke and put a smile on so many peoples faces. Last night (kareoke night), Shady’s played a few songs in honor of Joyce and again, she put smiles on everyone’s face.
I met joyce 21 yrs ago. I was a bartender at the Irish Hill Eagles, and had just given birth 8 weeks prior. From the moment Joyce met me & my newborn son,we knew she was a "keeper"!
She was so loving towards my son Shane, she treated us as if we were her family. I was in awwwe over her loving, kind & loyal heart. When my son turned a year old she knew i was struggling,so her & Uncle Ken hired me to clean her house weekly(which honestly didn't really need it :) she was constantly fussing over my son, always giving him a lil something...
My son to this day has wonderful memories & great love for Joyce (and her dog Dave)
It's breaking my heart knowing i still need to tell him of her passing
:( he's going to be devastated.
Joyce & i didn'tget to see eachither often in the past 5 years but when we did,it was like no days had passed, she ALWAYS had a hug for me.
I'm going to miss seeing her kind eyes & beautiful soul...
I wish i could see her one more time...because i would hug her a little tighter & a little longer.
I love you my sweet friend.
I will remember you ALWAYS!
LOVE,
Sherry Rittersbach
I had the pleasure of working with Joyce at the Jackson Police Department. She was an excellent employee and supervisor. Joyce always had a positive attitude and was always optimistic in a difficult profession. A classy lady! She will be missed!
