Joyce Mary Gough's Obituary
Joyce Mary Gough, 86, of Brooklyn passed away Friday, November 8, 2024 at Henry Ford Hospice Home, Jackson. Joyce’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm with a Rosary at 6:30 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel. Her Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 11:00 am following visitation at 10:00 am at St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 10516 Hayes Road, Clarklake, Michigan. Interment of Ashes will follow at St. Rita’s Catholic Church Columbarium. Rev. Fr. Bosco Padamattummal will serve as a celebrant.
She was born on May 7, 1938, in Jackson, Michigan to John and Dorothy (Dorr) Rhines. Joyce married the love of her life, Charles Gough, on June 7, 1958, in Jackson, Michigan. She will be remembered for her devotion to helping others. Joyce was a Jackson High School graduate, class of 1956. She was a longtime parishioner of St. John the Evangelistic Catholic Church and more recently St. Rita’s Catholic Church. Joyce helped prepare the meals for funerals. She was also a member of the American Legion Wilbur-Bartlett Post 315, of Brooklyn and she helped Chuck with the Knights of Columbus events. Joyce enjoyed her “happy hour”, golfing, fishing with Chuck and gardening. During the winter months, Chuck and Joyce made Florida their home. Above all Joyce loved life and her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Chuck; her children, David (Velinda) Gough and Michael (Kimberly Holtz) Gough; brother, Richard (Beverly) Rhines; grandchildren, Bryon (Kristine) Gough, Bradley (Stephanie) Gough, Kelsey (Jake) Vanitvelt and Kylie Gough; great grandchildren Parker, Brecken, Carter and Chloe Gough; several nieces and nephews, with a special niece, Faye (Ken) Fleeger. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy; brothers, Robert Dorr and Glenn Pond.
