Joyce Ann Velner's Obituary
Age 87, passed away at Country Meadows in Grass Lake October 3, 2018 after a long illness which she endured with grace and dignity. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, John G. Velner, three children, Kathleen Potter, Andy (Patty) Clemons and John (Pam) Velner, special granddaughters, Virginia Potter and Theresa (Ryan) Cook, grandchildren, Mike Poynter, Nikki Clemons, Tony (Jamie) Clemons and Gail (Robert) Stockard, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John W. Laskey Sr. and Virginia (Laskey) Geske, brother John Laskey Jr. and her daughter Colleen Rice. She was a 1949 graduate of Jackson High School, former long time member of St. Aidans. Joyce has been cremated. A Memorial Service to honor her life will be held at the funeral home Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 11 am with Hospice Chaplain David Goldsmith officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am until service time. Contributions in her memory are directed to the Cascades Humane Society or SouthernCare Hospice.
