Juanita "Mikki" Smith's Obituary
On Friday, August 1, 2025, our Lord called 78-year-old, Juanita “Mikki” Smith, to join him forever in his peaceful, heavenly home. She was born in Detroit, MI, on March 26, 1947, to her parents, Melvin and Christine (Stennett) Guldenstein. She was a gentle, kind and thoughtful soul, who always had a smile for everyone with a soft, genuine laugh.
On December 31, 1963, she married, David E. Williamson, and had 3 children, Constance S. (Robert Brady) Merritt E. (Melodic Caudill) and David E. (Jennifer Evans). They raised their family in Livonia, Michigan, introducing the children to the natural beauty of the state. They went on family adventures of camping in the U.P., sightseeing, fishing, hiking and visiting friends and family. Juanita loved anything to do with funny, witty humor, especially “The Looney Tunes” and “Mickey Mouse”, so the nick name “Mikki” was a perfect fit. Mikki loved music and animals and had a variety of pets and rescues through the years.
Mikki went all out for the Holidays, decorating and making each one a special memory. Halloween was her favorite and was also her eldest son’s birthday. She would decorate the yard, put a black light in the porch and put on a spooky record, while in costume, passing out candy to the neighborhood children. Mikki loved to have fun and she loved her family all together having fun. With having 6 siblings and their families together at their home for annual summer picnics, made many special memories and fun for all. She took many pictures throughout the events and actually took the time to write names, the year and place on the back! Thank you, mom!!
Mikki was a very gifted and creative artist, who always made the beautiful cakes for the gatherings. She often hand-crafted lovely gifts for her friends and family by crocheting, painting, sewing, drawing and went to ceramic classes with her dear sister-in-law, Fran. Juanita and David parted ways in 1980. She later met the very witty and fun-loving Charles “Chuck” Smith. They married on October 5, 1991. They held their wedding reception at a local roller-skating rink, where everyone had a great time celebrating with the happy couple. They enjoyed each other and their combined family for 13 years, until Chuck went to the Lord in heaven in 2014. Mikki spent her later years with her faithful pup, Smores, in Brooklyn, MI, near her 2 sons and families. She took smores, both all dressed up cute, for a “walk” on her scooter. Around the neighborhood they made many friends and brought many smiles along the way.
Mikki loved her 4 grandchildren, Patrick (Lauren) Turner, Stephanie Caudill, Alexandra Williamson and Shatel (Jarad) Phoenix. She was very proud of her 9 great grandchildren, Brady Turner, Jack Turner, Nicolai Williamson, Felix Knight, Jaxen Dubose, Jermaine Dubose, Delilah Drew and Endsley Phoenix. In her heavenly home, she joins her parents, 5 of her 6 siblings, Timothy (2001), Jackie (2002), Roxanne (2009), Karen (2017) and Betty (2010), her eldest son, Merritt (2023), her sister-in-law, Fran, husband “Chuck”, and many more dear friends and family.
Juanita “Mikki” will forever live in our hearts, our daily thoughts and memories. She will be cremated and her celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please leave a message of comfort for Juanita’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
