Dennis Essa
My name is Dennis Essa and my mother was Delphine Jablonski, older sister to Judy's husband Jim. I remember Christmases in the basement of Grandma and Grandpa J's house, where the siblings grew up. They were crowded, loud and full of fun, often with Uncle Jim and Aunt Judy at the center of it.
When my sister Anna got married, I was in Jr. High and was her photographer. During the reception, Judy came over, made me put the camera down, pulled me out onto the dance floor and taught me how to do the twist. It was my fist dance and as an adolescent boy, a huge challenge and embarrassment, but also a great joy. I hadn't realize it until now, but this sparked my love of dance and I thank her for that.
She brought the best out in people. She is missed.
