Kathleen Ann Gingrich's Obituary
Kathleen Ann Gingrich, 85, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Kathleen’s family and friends will hold a celebration of life and luncheon on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Jackson Free Methodist Church, 2829 Park Drive, Jackson, MI 49203 at 12:00 pm.
She was born on February 24, 1939, in Toledo, Ohio to Russell and Florence (Kamprath)Phillips. Kathleen married the love of her life, Richard Gingrich, on June 12, 1960 in Oregon, Ohio, they had 47 wonderful years together until his passing in 2008. She will be remembered as a very loving, caring, outgoing woman that loved her family above all else. Kathleen is a Clay High School graduate, class of 1957. She also was a Bowling Green State University Alumni, class of 1962, and a Chi Omega sorority member. Kathleen was a five-time cancer survivor that “gave the good fight”. She enjoyed gardening, canning and her flowers, traveling in the RV (even going to Europe), and playing piano. Kathleen was a talented artist and loved living in her cottage on the lake where she could boat, ski and enjoy many water activities. She was strong in her faith, reading daily devotions and attending bible study. Kathleen was a member of the JFM Church. She truly cherished her two cats, Jinx and Jax, especially after the passing of her husband. Kathleen had a sweet tooth, enjoying all things sweet especially caramel. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kathleen is survived by her children, Mark Gingrich (Dawn Holgate), Jennifer Gingrich and Brenda Guess; a sister, Gloria Ross; two grandchildren Wesley “Hunter” Guess and Rachel Gleckler-Pacholek (Anthony); and two great grandchildren Jackson and Morgan Pacholek. She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Florence, and her husband, Richard.
