Kathleen Florence Lupro's Obituary
Kathleen Florence Lupro, 77, of Somerset Center, passed away on December 14, 2023. Kay’s family and friends will gather from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023 and from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Einder Funeral Homes - Brooklyn Chapel. Her funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Eineder Funeral Homes – Brooklyn Chapel. Pastor Jim Sprunger will serve as celebrant. A graveside service will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Kay was born on February 18, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan to Harvey and Lucille (Brueckman) La Forest. Kay married the love of her life, the late Charles “Bud” Lupro, on February 16, 1973 in Detroit, Michigan. She worked at Columbia Central High School for many years as a custodian where she was a positive influence on the students. Kay will be remembered as a very loving Nana by many. She deeply loved and cherished her family. She had the best sense of humor and there was never a dull moment around her. Kay had lots of nicknames such as “Hall Monster” and “crazy Aunt Kay”, but her favorite was without a doubt, “Nana”. She enjoyed sitting outside on her back porch where she could talk with neighbors. Kay could connect easily with anyone she met. She had such a loving heart. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kay will be greatly missed by; her beloved son, Glen (Paula) Lupro; siblings, Darlene (Jerry) Smith, Nancy (Dan) Sengstock, and Tom (Kathy) La Forest; precious granddaughter, Heather (James) Sprunger; cherished great granddaughter, Everleigh Kay; many nieces and nephews and special friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud; her parents; and siblings, Gerald LaForest and Theresa McCone.
