Kathleen Marie Potter-Maddin's Obituary
Kathleen Marie Potter-Maddin, 72, formerly of Grass Lake, passed away peacefully at home under Hospice care, after a lengthy health battle. Kathleen’s family and friends will gather Friday, September 15, 2023, from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (Formerly Arthur-Day Funeral Home). Her funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. Chaplin Dave Goldsmith will officiate.
She was born on November 24, 1950, in Jackson, Michigan to Wilson and Joyce (Laskey) Poynter. Kathleen was the owner of Country Meadows Care Home in Grass Lake for 40 years. She took great pride in operating a business that specialized in compassion and excellent care. Kathleen was known for being a tough boss and keeping people accountable, but she was also the kindest person you would ever meet. She laughed when called a drill sergeant with a big heart. Kathleen loved to travel and had traveled to every state, except Alaska. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Kathleen is survived by her daughters, Virginia Potter and Gail (Robert) Stockard; a bonus daughter/niece, Theresa (Ryan) Cook; grandchildren, Kelsie, Skyler, Maliah and Karson; a brother, Andy (Patty) Clemons; nephew, Tony (Jamie) Clemons; niece, Nikki Clemons; great nieces and nephews, Cody Pegg, Noah Pegg and Hunter Clemons; stepmother, Fran Poynter; brother, Claude (Patrice) Poynter and sister, Susan (Brian) Bartz. She is preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Velner; stepfather, John Velner; father, Wilson Poynter; sister, Colleen Rice and husband Larry Maddin.
