Kay Eileen Pepper's Obituary
Age 77 of Parma, MI. Passed on Thursday September 22nd after a courageous battle with cancer at home under the loving care of her family and Great Lakes Caring Hospice. Kay was born in Mason, MI November 7, 1938, after growing up in Stockbridge, MI, living most of her life in Jackson, MI, and spending her later years in St. Augustine, FL which she loved for the sun and warm weather. Kay worked many years for the City of Jackson in the City Treasurer's office, and was a longtime volunteer with the Council on Aging in St. Augustine. She also was active politically her entire life in the Jackson County Democratic Party. Kay was preceded in death by her parents Merrill and Orpha (Haney) Pierce, her brother James Pierce, her son Brent Bowser, her step-daughter Lori Pepper, and her very special friend Tony Konopka. She is survived by her sister Nancy Hicks of Jackson, MI, three children, Richard Bowser of Kalamazoo, MI, Bruce Bowser of Parma, MI, Merrilyn Schlenker of Troy, MI, and their spouses Elizabeth, Bea, and Jhames, as well as two stepchildren Candra Wilcox and Duane Pepper. She also is survived by 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a private family Memorial Celebration will be held at a later date.
