Kay Carol Munsell's Obituary
Kay Carol Munsell, Age 83, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023. Kay’s family and friends will gather Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. Her funeral service will follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. at Gene Davis and Son’s Catering, 3575 Francis St., Jackson, MI. Reverend Ned Bernstein will officiate the ceremony.
Kay was born on December 11, 1939, in Upper Turkey Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania to Albert and Estella Putman. Kay married the love of her life, Carman, and spent 45 years happily married. She will be remembered for her love for life and everything it had to offer. Kay loved to sing and dance in her younger years. She worked as a secretary for both Mercy and Foote hospital, eventually retiring after 28 years. Kay loved spending time with her family. Once she retired, she developed a passion for crocheting and would crochet prayer shawls for friends, family members and many organizations. Kay enjoyed meeting her work friends for lunch, playing Bingo, bowling, scrapbooking, and crafting with plastic canvas. If you knew Kay, then you knew she left saying “We’ll see you tomorrow, God willing, and the creeks don’t rise!
Kay will be missed by her beloved Carman; her children, Teresa (Earnest) Kaufman, Tonia (Stanley) Zanger and Dalton (Melissa) Holt, sister, Lois (Ted) Ryan, grandchildren; Jeffrey (Miranda) Holt, Nathaniel Holt and Skylynn Gonzalez; great grandchildren; Thrasher Holt, Ronnie Anne Holt, Gabriel Holt and Zachary Holt; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Estella Putman, brother Donald Putman and granddaughter, Shanea Marie Hull.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice House – Jackson, and all of their employees for their care, concern, commitment, counseling and loving attention they gave Mom, but to her family as well. We would also like to thank the Jackson County Medical Care Facility and staff for their care.
