Kelly Jean Shipp's Obituary
Kelly Jean Shipp, 62, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2023. Kelly’s family and friends will gather Friday, April 21, 2023, at Eineder Funeral Homes – Michigan Center Chapel (formerly Arthur-Day Funeral Home). Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 2:00 p.m.
She was born on July 18, 1960, in Jackson, Michigan to Oliver and Priscilla (Stringham) Meyer. She will be remembered as the life of the party and her happy personality was infectious. Not only did Kelly like to have fun, but she was always playing practical jokes and pranks on her friends and family. Kelly loved to golf with her friends on the Chix with Stix golf league at Ella Sharp Park. She also loved to fish, and she was a true blue Detroit Lions fan. Kelly also cherished her Alaskan Malamutes, Arya and Brienne and her special cat, Benny.
Kelly will be missed by her beloved partner of 18 years, Carol; her sister, Terry Ackerman and half-brother Glenn Shipp, niece’s and nephew’s; Ronald Shipp, September L Slocum, Rebecca Briggs, Grace Pond, Jessica Shipp, Chelsea Shipp, and Jake Shipp, great niece’s and nephew’s; Steven Shipp, Zachary Cary, Mayla Slocum, Kate-Lynn Slocum, Olivia Hamilton, Isaac Hamilton, and great-great niece; Trinity Slocum. She is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Shipp and Priscilla Meyer, brother, David Shipp and brother-in-law, Steven Ackerman.
