Kenneth B. ""Rip"" Van Winkle's Obituary
Age 88, of Leoni Township, passed away peacefully at home September 18, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Wilma V. (Moore). They would have celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary October 2, 2017. Also surviving are two daughters, Wendy (Jack) Couling and Teresa (Willie) Zeller, three grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Couling, Amy Earnhardt and Danielle Van Winkle, four great-grandchildren, Brianne, Isaac, Josh and Bella and his late son's widow, Patti (Jewel) Couling. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Van Winkle and his parents, Eugene C. and Florence I. (Dalton) Van Winkle. He served the nation in the US Army during the Korean War, retired from Consumers Power Company as a Linesman in Charge after 31 years of service and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Cremation has taken place. At a later date, private interment of his cremated remains will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Michigan with full military honors.
