LaMoine Helen Clemons' Obituary
CLEMONS (COCHRAN, EVERETT), LaMOINE HELEN Age 87, of Jackson, formerly of Leoni Township, passed away under the very special care of the Allegiance Hospice Home and surrounded by her loving family on April 8, 2013. She was born in 1925 to LaVerne and Donna (Sample) Cochran. LaMoine was preceded in death by her parents; her second husband, Richard Clemons; sister, Joyce Kimling, infant daughter, Sandra Everett; granddaughter, Amy Wallen; and son-in-law, Barry O'Brien. In 1943, she was married to her first husband, Jesse Everett and he survives. LaMoine is also survived by three children, Linda (Dan) Karsten, Judy (Jim) Curtis and David (Jeanette) Everett; step-son, Andy Clemons; she was blessed with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She also considered herself ""grandma"" to Tobi and Hobi, her daughter's dogs, who always lit up her eyes. LaMoine was a wonderful mother who enjoyed people; she was a kind, gentle woman who always tried to see the best in everyone she met. She loved to socialize and as a young woman, enjoyed bowling, golfing and traveling. She worked many years as a Pharmacist Assistant at several area pharmacies. In later years, she became an active member in the Michigan Center Lioness Club and several ladies card groups with whom she enjoyed company with every Wednesday and Friday. In early 2010, she moved to Arbor North Assisted Living where she made many new friends and participated in numerous activities. People were her joy and as many said ""to know her was to love her""; time spent with her family was most cherished. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church, 925 Backus St., Jackson, on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:00 am with the Reverend Edrye Maurer officiating. Visitation at church one hour prior to service time. The family will greet friends at a church luncheon following the services. Charitable donations may be directed to the Michigan Center Lioness Club, Ducks Unlimited, Allegiance Hospice Home or the Cascades Humane Society.
