Lance William Hunt's Obituary
LANCE “Custer/Lancer” HUNT, age 64, of Albion, Michigan passed away peacefully after “Fighting the Good Fight”; on May 1, 2025 at Henry Ford Hospice Home in Jackson. He was born on February 18, 1961 in Jackson, Michigan to George Wm. E. Hunt and Shirley J. (Pechumer) Hunt. Lance was a 1979 graduate of Northwest High School. Since his twenties, Lance ran the open road as a Short Haul Driver. He was employed as a driver for Michigan Wholesalers for many years until they closed their doors. Most recently driving for Estes Express Lines out of Marshall. During his career, he accumulated 1,000,000 miles of driving without an incident. In which he was recognized by the National Safety Council, with The Million Mile Club Award.
Lance loved life and was an enthusiast of anything with a tread. You could catch him displaying his Mustang at a local car show or riding his Harley-Davidson with his biker buds. Lance was a racing fan who enjoyed NASCAR, Supercross, and Drag racing. He was never married, but always fond of the pretty ladies. He was a simple guy with a close network of friends that looked out for him. Even though he never had kids of his own, many of his friends’ children called him “Uncle Lance”, they absolutely thought the world of him. Sadness fills the hearts of those that knew him best. His friendship, kindness, and humor left a lasting mark.
Lance will be dearly missed. He is survived by his family members; Aunt Lenora “Cookie” Kreger, his favorite cousin Roni-Sue (Keith) Marks, Andrew Sharp; which Lance had a very special connection with and Morgan (Daniel) Fuentes with children Lola Grace and Mateo. Also, survived by cousins Craig (Renee) Kreger with children Chase and C.J., Mark Flanders, Stacy Fishcer, and Gay-Lynn Barson. In addition, special friends, Rusty Lyke and Lindsay Mercer, Baron and Lisa Bascom, Joe Krusiec and family, Jeff Connell, and Jimmy Kerr. He is preceded in death by Denise Krusiec and his parents George and Shirley.
