Larry Russell Eddy's Obituary
Larry-The Man, The Myth, The Legend. The epitome of that phrase. Larry passed in the presence of loving family members on September 16, 2024, in Spring Arbor, MI. He grew up in Addison, MI with his parents and sisters. Immediately at birth, Larry was the favorite by not only his mother, but also his older sisters, who doted on him till the end, and was revered by his younger sister. Oftentimes you see people marry their high school sweetheart only in the movies, but Larry’s love story was a dream come true. He met his wife, Cindy, after moving to the Columbia Central School District where their relationship grew from a grade school crush, to inseparable adventure partners. Larry and Cindy continued their journey with adding four children and continued traveling the country creating more unforgettable memories. While pouring his love and support into the growth of his children and their own families, Larry evolved into his grandest role, Pa. He effortlessly stepped into his role as a grandfather of 10 grandchildren.
A master of lectures, inspiration, and speaking from the heart with a flare all his own, Larry was an incredible role model and influencer to not only his family, but to a multitude of friends, family, kids he coached, co-workers and strangers on the street. He had an incredible knack for meaningful connection with people. His greatest mission in life was to make people smile with no other intention than to make their day a little bit better. Larry may have left this earth with much more life to live, but the seeds of love and laughter he has planted will grow for generations to come.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Cindy; 4 children: Tricia (Kayla), Rachel (Brad), Nick (Alyssa), and Zach (Nicole); 5 siblings: Dean Eddy, Annette (Jim) Mattison, Sherry, Diane (Danny) Gattshall, Amanda (John) Labun, mother-in-law Bonnie McCabe, sister-in-law Vicki McCabe; 10 grandkids: Kiyami, Colton, Zeke, Declan, Owen, Raelee, Lainee, Josie, Lexi, and Smith; his many beloved nieces and nephews and their families; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who became family.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Paul (Mary Ann) Eddy and Sara (Robert Wilson).
Larry’s family will hold a visitation on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home where we will share stories, laugh at his favorite jokes, and remember the extraordinary man who made every moment count. A celebration of his life will be held at Eineder Funeral Home, located at 137 S Main St, Brooklyn, MI 49230, on Monday, September 23, 2024, beginning at 10:00 A.M., with Pastor Jerry Lyon officiating (or per Larry, officializing). Larry’s greatest realization and final gift was the discovery that sweats are the most comfortable attire, and can be worn anywhere, anytime. Please join us in your comfortable attire (sweats are welcome and appreciated). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Cascades Humane Society or National Park Foundation, both organizations close to Larry’s heart. Memorial contributions may be directed to Cascades Humane Society (1515 Carmen Dr, Jackson, MI 49202) at https://cascadeshumanesociety.salsalabs.org. or the National Park Foundation at https://give.nationalparks.org. QR Codes will also be available at the funeral home. For additional information, please visit www.einederfuneralhomes.com to sign the guestbook or send condolences to the family.
