Larry Ford Reed's Obituary
REED, LARRY FORD Age 71, a lifelong resident of Clark Lake, passed away peacefully at home, on Good Friday under the care of his devoted, loving family. He was born March 15, 1943 in Jackson to G. Raynor and Evalyne (Ford) Reed. He was a truly devoted husband of his high school sweetheart, Sharon (Maine) for 51 years and father to loving daughters, Sharla (Jim) Saterlee, Kathy (Greg) Wright and Tracy (Mat) Page who all survive him. Papa was also was blessed with grandchildren, Karissa (David) Weight, Chad and Lucas Wright, Kaylyn Saterlee, Maggie Page; great-granddaughter, Nina Weight and special future granddaughter, Katie VanBrandt. He leaves behind a brother, Tom (Felice) Reed and sister, Noreen (Jim) Abercrombie and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gary and Philip. Larry barbered and owned Reed's Barber Shop in Jackson for 41 years making many wonderful friends. He also farmed his centennial farm all of his life leaving his grandchildren as the 7th generation to live there. Years ago, Larry was a Past-President of the Clark Lake Lions Club and served on the Deaconate Board of the Clark Lake Community Church. Larry and Sharon spent most of 10 years of retirement traveling and enjoying sporting events involving their grandchildren. Most will remember Larry with a constant smile on his face and twinkle in his eye. He seldom met a person without making them a life-long friend. A jokester himself, he loved the ones played on himself the best. He loved family dinners on Sunday, of which there were many. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Clark Lake Community Church on Saturday, May 3rd, at 11 a.m. Those wishing to remember him with a donation, please make it to the Clark Lake Community Church or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
