Larry Lee Young's Obituary
Larry Lee Young, 81, of Michigan Center, Michigan, passed away at home on March 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born on January 21, 1944, in Jackson, Michigan, and spent his childhood on his grandparents' farm with his brother, where he learned the values of hard work and family. He met the love of his life, Karen Young, as a teenager, and the two quickly became inseparable - a characteristic of their relationship that prevailed for its entirety. Their marriage on December 22, 1962, marked the beginning of a lifelong journey filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Together, they built a life centered around their family, and Larry was a steadfast husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His love extended beyond his own biological family, embracing all who were lucky enough to be a part of his life.
Larry's social nature, charm, and often inappropriate humor, brought life to every room he entered. Throughout his life, Larry caused good trouble in nearly every place he visited, leaving behind a trail of laughter and unforgettable moments, ultimately becoming a beloved figure at his frequented spots. His kids and grandkids will cherish the countless camping and fishing trips, days spent at the lake swimming, and card games (where he often cheated). Those who loved him will fondly recall the many collections he cherished throughout his life, especially his collection of family photos that wallpapered his home.
Larry was a family man, and his greatest joy was the time spent with those he cherished most. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Karen. His memory lives on through his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren: Shella & Paul, Laura & Marty, Heidi & Brian, Larry & Angelle, Nikki, Jason & Mary, Jennifer & Ronnie, Melinda & Matt, Jordan, Tabatha, Alyssa & Meghan, Amber & Paul, Garret & Hannah, Dustin & Kim, Meagan, Hailey, Mason, Isabella, Brianna, Amelia, Kennedy, Kaylen, Wyette, Bailey, and Kolten.
Larry's legacy lives on in the love he so generously shared with his family, the laughter he brought to every gathering, and the countless memories he created.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 27th at Eineder Funeral Homes - Michigan Center Chapel, located at 820 5th St, Michigan Center, MI 49254. The public gathering will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service starting at 11:00 a.m.
