Laura Kathryn Howard's Obituary
Laura Kathryn Howard, age 63, born November 22, 1958 in Flint, Michigan died in her home on June 16, 2022 in Brooklyn, Michigan. The family held a private viewing at Eineder Funeral Home – Brooklyn Chapel. The family will be holding a celebration of life memorial in the Spring, date and location to be determined.
Laura grew up in Big Rapids, Michigan where she graduated high school. This is where she established her love of softball, horses, card games and friends. She went on to graduate from U of M where she received a Bachelors of Hospitality and a Masters in English. She then continued on to receive her teacher’s certificate following in the footsteps of both her parents.
Laura would stop at nothing to make sure everyone was taken care of before herself. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, mocha frappes, gin and tonics with “Rose’s lime” and spoiling the crap out of her grandson and soon to be granddaughter. Laughter was her drug of choice.
Laura was known as a mother, a wife, a nana, a sister, a daughter and a friend. She is survived by her husband, Michael Howard; daughters Kara Peterson and Coral Howard; son-in-law Dan Peterson; grandson Gabriel Peterson; father, Allan Meyer; brother, Michael Meyer, and a sister Michelle Williams. Laura will be greeted in heaven by her mother Mary Meyer. Laura will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America or the Summit Jackson Local 1306 Firefighters Charity Fund. Please leave a message of comfort for Laura’s family or sign her guestbook at www.EinederFuneralHomes.com.
